Interface and control functions

Parameter Details
Model function Classic KNX TP line coupler/repeater.
Power supply and current Main line and subline each use 21–30 VDC KNX TP. Current consumption is below 10 mA from the main TP line; each line segment needs its own KNX bus power supply.
Interfaces KNX protocol on both the main-line and subline interfaces; galvanic isolation between the two TP sides.
Routing and commissioning Use the TP Coupler application for line/area coupling and the TP Repeater application for unfiltered data transfer between galvanically isolated line segments.
Telegram filtering Filters traffic according to bus hierarchy and built-in group-address filter tables. Manual function permits temporary filter switch-off and special routing, repetition and confirmation settings for commissioning and troubleshooting.
Long telegrams Supports tracing of subline traffic. The 2025-04-18 series catalog specifies up to 240-byte APDU. The March 2024 KSC-01L manual instead states 239 bytes; confirm the supported telegram length for the supplied hardware/firmware when designing near this limit.
Repeater topology Up to four line segments can form one KNX TP line using three KSC repeaters. Provide an independent KNX power supply for each segment and follow the coupler hierarchy; do not directly bridge separate lines around their couplers.
Bus connections B3 is the main-line KNX TP terminal; B4 is the subline KNX TP terminal. Both use red + / black −. B1 is the Function button and B2 the Program button.
Main-line status Green: main line OK; red: manual function active.
Subline status Green: subline OK.
Traffic indicators The main-line and subline traffic LEDs flash green with telegram traffic and flash red for transmission errors.
Address-routing indicators For both group-address (GA) and physical-address (PA) routing: green means filter active; orange route all; red block all; OFF means the main-line and subline settings differ.
Programming indicator Red: programming mode.

Installation and environmental limits

Commissioning data Use the manufacturer’s appropriate ETS application database and instructions for the exact model and application.

Standards and reliability

Parameter Details
Safety standards EAC TP TC 004 approved; compliance to EN 60669.
KNX standards ISO/IEC 14543-3, EN 50090 and EN 13321-1.
EMC emissions Compliance to EN 50491-5 and EN 61000-6; EAC TP TC 020.
EMC immunity Compliance to EN 61000-4-2, -3, -4, -5, -6 and -11; EAC TP TC 020.
MTBF reference 100,000 hours minimum; a reliability reference, not guaranteed service life.
Manufacturer warranty reference The catalog states a 3-year manufacturer warranty, subject to its applicable terms.

Manufacturer installation instructions

Parameter Details
Bus connection and mounting Use the marked red/black screwless KNX TP connector with 0.6–0.8 mm-diameter single-core wire and mount the device on a 35 mm TH35 rail. Do not connect the device to 230 V.
Commissioning address Assign a physical address that matches the project topology: X.Y.0 for a line coupler or X.0.0 for an area coupler. Load and check the applicable ETS configuration and filter settings before putting the installation into service.
Coupler and repeater operation Select the TP Coupler or TP Repeater application to match the installation. A repeater forwards telegrams without a filter table; each line segment requires its own KNX power supply. In coupler operation, the manual’s factory filter settings block telegrams until the filter table is configured. Do not use repeaters in a backbone or main line.
Document revision and frame length The current series catalog states an APDU length of up to 240 bytes, while the March 2024 KSC-01L manual states 239 bytes. Confirm the required frame length against the supplied hardware and application version.
Documented unit weight The March 2024 KSC-01L manual gives a unit weight of 66 g. The main catalog’s 76 g PACKING value is a separate packaging reference.
