| Installation and supply |
Use qualified personnel, a dry location and a 35 mm DIN rail. Connect the KNX bus and USB as shown; the interface is not powered without USB. Do not connect the device to 230 V or add a mains supply. Keep the housing closed and protect the insulation. |
| Connections and cable |
The USB interface is USB 2.0 Type B female, connected to the host’s Type A port. Use a USB cable no longer than 5 m; the industrial package does not include the cable. The screwless KNX terminal accepts 0.6–0.8 mm-diameter single-core wire. |
| Commissioning |
The default physical address is 0.2.255. Select KSI-01U as the interface in ETS and assign an address appropriate to the project. Its database entry is available for ETS4 and later and has no device parameters or communication objects of its own. |
| USB software interface |
The USB HID profile uses a standard host driver, including Windows and Linux. KNX commissioning or visualization still requires suitable software; cEMI and Raw Frame support do not imply that every commissioning application runs on every operating system. |
| Connection indicators |
The USB LED is green when connected, blinks green with telegram traffic, is red in USB suspend mode and is off without USB. The KNX LED is green when connected, blinks with telegram traffic and is off if KNX or USB is disconnected. |
| KNX Secure visualization |
For visualization of KNX Secure devices, configure secured Group Associations and the appropriate interface access in the ETS project. |
| Documented unit weight |
The May 2024 instruction manual lists a unit weight of 62 g. The older catalog’s 70 g value is labeled PACKING and is kept separate from this explicit weight specification. |
