Model and Output Ratings

Full model LSP-160R-4.2W
Series LSP-160
Function option R: DC OK active signal and current sharing for redundancy
Connection suffix W: wafer-connector version, available by request
DC output voltage 4.2 V
Rated output current 32 A
Rated output power 134.4 W
Higher-output operating current 40 A
Higher-output operating power 168 W
Output voltage adjustment 4–4.5 V
Adjustment for higher-output operation 4–4.2 V
Maximum ripple and noise 200 mVp-p
Voltage tolerance ±2.0%
Line regulation ±0.5%
Load regulation ±1.0%; ±2.0% at 40 A load

The higher-output 40 A / 168 W rating requires 200–264 VAC input, −20 to +50°C ambient and the specified aluminum-plate installation. Use the corresponding restricted voltage-adjustment range. The input, ambient-temperature and case-temperature limits apply together.

This is a conditional operating rating; select the load from the model-specific voltage, current and power limits. The series designation is not the output-power rating of every voltage version.

Input and Electrical Performance

Input voltage range 100–264 VAC; 141–370 VDC
Input frequency 47–63 Hz
AC surge-input withstand 300 VAC for 5 seconds
Power factor correction Built-in active PFC
Typical power factor at full load PF ≥ 0.94 at 230 VAC; PF ≥ 0.98 at 115 VAC
Typical efficiency 87.5%
Typical AC input current 2.2 A at 115 VAC; 1.1 A at 230 VAC
Typical cold-start inrush current 45 A at 115 VAC; 85 A at 230 VAC
Leakage current Less than 0.75 mA at 240 VAC
Set-up / rise time at full load 2000 / 110 ms at 230 VAC; 3000 / 110 ms at 115 VAC
Typical hold-up time 8 ms at 230 VAC; 8 ms at 115 VAC

Unless otherwise specified, parameters are measured at 230 VAC input, rated load and 25°C ambient. Ripple and noise are measured with 20 MHz bandwidth using a 12-inch twisted pair terminated with parallel 0.1 µF and 47 µF capacitors. Voltage tolerance includes set-up tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.

The 300 VAC / 5-second withstand figure is a transient input condition; the normal AC operating range remains 100–264 VAC.

Protection

Short-circuit protection Hiccup mode; automatic recovery after the fault is removed
Overload threshold 130–150% of the 160 W output-power reference
Overload behavior Constant-current limiting; a further load increase causes hiccup protection, with automatic recovery after the fault is removed
Overvoltage threshold 4.62–5.46 V
Overvoltage recovery Output shutdown; reapply input power to recover
Overtemperature recovery Output shutdown; reapply input power after the temperature has fallen

DC OK Status

DC OK interface Optocoupler collector-emitter status output
DC OK connection, CN2 Pin 1: DC OK +V; pin 2: DC COM
DC OK maximum rating 15 VDC / 10 mA, resistive load
DC OK state Collector-emitter conducting when the PSU is on; open when the PSU is off
Fault indication Normal: low; short circuit / overload: hiccup; overvoltage / overtemperature / breakdown: high

Use the DC OK optocoupler interface within its 15 VDC / 10 mA rating. The DC OK signal connection is distinct from the main +V / −V power terminals. The LED provides a separate power-on indication.

Two-Unit Current Sharing

Current-sharing availability Built in for this R-option model
Parallel-unit limit 2 units
Output-voltage matching Difference must be less than 0.2 V
Current-sharing connection, CN1 Pin 1: CS+; pin 2: CS−
Parallel-operation load limit The maximum load must not exceed the rated power

Connect CS+ to CS+ and CS− to CS− between the two units, with the main +V outputs and −V outputs connected in parallel as shown in the function diagram. Do not reverse the CS connections. Fine-adjust the output voltage before paralleling; the function manual identifies the adjustment as SVR1 and the mechanical drawing marks it Vo ADJ.

When total output current is below (30% of rated current) × (number of units), current sharing may be unbalanced and one LED may flash without affecting normal operation. Keep the stated parallel-load limit; two connected units do not establish an unrestricted doubled power rating.

Connections and Optional Mating Parts

AC input assignment, TB1 Pin 1: AC/L; pin 3: AC/N; pin 5: FG
DC output assignment Pins 1 and 2: +V; pins 3 and 4: −V
Signal-board connector references CN1 / CN2: JST B2B-PH-K-S or equivalent
Signal mating-part references JST PHR-2 and JST SPH-002T-P0.5S, or equivalent
Input mating housing JS-1391-05
Input terminal references JS-1390-05 and JS-2420-TL
DC output mating housing 1EE4LSP-160F
DC output terminal reference 1EE4LSP-160M

Connect protective earth to FG and observe the input and output assignments in the mechanical drawing. CN2 is the DC OK signal port. CN1 carries the current-sharing signals for this R-option unit.

Select mating parts against the connector references above and confirm the required parts with the order. CN1 and CN2 mating cables are available by request; the optional signal-cable order code is 1FF5LSP-160-CS. Confirm the intended CN1 or CN2 connection when ordering.

Cooling and Operating Limits

Thermal curve with the specified aluminum plate 100% rated current through 50°C; 60% at 70°C
Without aluminum plate, at 230 VAC 65% through 50°C; reduce to 30% at 70°C
Without aluminum plate, at 100 VAC 45% through 50°C; reduce to 30% at 70°C
Input-voltage load curve, 60 Hz 80% at 100 VAC; 100% at 110–264 VAC
Case-temperature limit Tc up to 90°C at the indicated case measurement point
Operating altitude Up to 5000 m, with altitude derating
Working humidity 20–90% RH, non-condensing
Storage temperature and humidity −40 to +85°C; 10–95% RH, non-condensing
Temperature coefficient ±0.03%/°C from 0 to 50°C
Vibration 10–500 Hz, 5 G; 10 minutes per cycle and 60 minutes on each X, Y and Z axis

For the aluminum-plate curves, mount the unit firmly at the center of a smooth, flat 380 × 380 × 3 mm aluminum plate, or an enclosure surface of the same size. The mounting surface may be coated with thermal grease to improve thermal contact. The installation drawing shows M3 × 4 screws.

Higher-output operation starts at −20°C and requires 200–264 VAC and −20 to +50°C ambient. The general working-temperature range does not authorize that higher rating at all temperatures or input voltages. Observe the separately shown no-plate limits when the additional heat-spreading plate is absent.

Above 2000 m, reduce the allowable ambient temperature by 5°C for every additional 1000 m. Apply all relevant input, ambient and Tc restrictions together.
