Typical hold-up time 16 ms at 230 VAC, 75% load; 10 ms at 230 VAC, full load

Unless otherwise stated, catalog parameters are measured at 230 VAC input, rated load and 25°C ambient. Ripple and noise use a 20 MHz bandwidth and a 12-inch twisted pair terminated with 0.1 µF and 47 µF capacitors in parallel.

Input and Available Power

AC input / frequency 90–264 VAC; 47–63 Hz; single-phase line and neutral input
DC input 250–320 VDC; applications at 320–370 VDC require confirmation from MEAN WELL
Power factor, typical 0.97 at 230 VAC, full load; built-in active PFC

At 90 VAC 1248 W / 52 A at nominal 24 V

The low-line power values are the model-specific static-characteristic ratings at 60 Hz. Apply both input-voltage and ambient-temperature derating; the universal input range does not mean full output is available at every input voltage.

Protection

Short circuit and overload 105–125% of rated output power; constant-current limiting, followed by output shutdown after 5 seconds. Reapply power to recover.
Overvoltage 29.5–35 V; output shuts down, with recovery by reapplying power
Overtemperature Output shuts down and recovers automatically after the temperature falls

Remote Sensing and Voltage Programming

Remote-sense compensation Up to 0.5 V of voltage drop in the load wiring
CN501 sensing pins Pin 1 = +S; pin 2 = −S. Connect +S to the positive load terminal and −S to the negative load terminal.
Voltage-programming input CN501 pin 3 = PV; pin 4 = GND, referenced to output −V. This control is non-isolated.
Model-specific programming curve 40–115% of nominal voltage in the function graph; observe the nonlinear region and model-specific graph before applying an external control voltage.

Twist the sensing wires together to reduce noise pickup. For local sensing in the programming arrangement, connect +S to +V and −S to −V as shown in the function diagram.

For this model, the PV graph shows a lower plateau at approximately 40% output between 0.4 and 1 V external control, followed by an increase to approximately 115% at 4.7 V. Below approximately 0.4 V control the graph shows nominal output; do not extrapolate a linear adjustment down to zero volts.

Above 100% nominal output voltage, reduce allowable output current according to the programming curve; at 115% voltage the plotted current limit is approximately 87% of rated current. Observe the rated power and all other derating limits.

Remote ON/OFF, Auxiliary Outputs and Status

Remote ON/OFF CN501 pin 7 to pin 11 (+5V-AUX): open = output ON; short = output OFF. Maximum input voltage is 5.5 V.
Auxiliary signal return CN501 pins 8, 9 and 10 = GND-AUX, isolated from the main +V/−V output terminals
5 V auxiliary output CN501 pin 11: 4.5–5.5 V, maximum 0.3 A, referenced to GND-AUX
12 V auxiliary output CN501 pin 12: 10.6–13.2 V, maximum 0.8 A, referenced to GND-AUX
DC-OK signal CN501 pin 5: isolated status output, maximum sourcing current 10 mA; low 0–0.5 V = output voltage healthy, high 4.5–5.5 V = low output voltage
Temperature alarm CN501 pin 6: isolated status output, maximum sourcing current 10 mA; low 0–0.5 V = internal temperature within limit, high 4.5–5.5 V = temperature alarm

Both auxiliary supplies include built-in ORing diodes and remain active independently of the main-output remote ON/OFF control. Remote ON/OFF, DC-OK and the temperature-alarm signal use GND-AUX as the isolated reference.

The CN501 pin table specifies a DC-OK switching region of 80% ±6% of nominal output; the separate LED table labels its output-voltage indication as 80% ±5%. Green indicates DC-OK or normal temperature; red indicates low output or a temperature alarm. The temperature-alarm LED table shows output OFF during an overtemperature alarm. Use the detailed signal table when designing a monitoring circuit.

Parallel Operation

Maximum number of units Up to 4 RSP-2000 units with active current sharing
Maximum combined output current 80 A × number of units × 0.9, with all relevant input and temperature derating applied
Output-voltage matching Difference between parallel units must be less than 0.2 V
Minimum load Greater than 5% of the total rated output; below this level current sharing may be unbalanced and some units may remain in standby
CN502 parallel-control pins Pins 1/2 = DA; pins 3/4 = DB; pins 5/6 = GND connected to output −V
CN504 termination selector Pins 1/2 select the termination resistor for DA/DB parallel-control signals

Use short, large-diameter output wiring and join matching DA, DB and GND signals between units. Twist longer CN502 control wires in pairs. Follow the parallel-wiring and sensing diagrams in the PDF.

For a single unit, CN502 is unplugged and CN504 termination is fitted. For 2 units, connect CN502 and fit CN504 on both. For 3 or 4 units, connect CN502 on all units and fit CN504 only on the first and last unit. The PDF connection table specifies these configurations; it does not establish that a customer wiring harness is included.

The series headline of up to 8000 W is not an unconditional combined rating for every voltage model. Select the system from the actual per-model current, the 0.9 sharing factor and the operating conditions.

Temperature, Cooling and Environment

Operating ambient −35 to +70°C with derating; horizontal mounting as shown in the curve
Temperature curve Up to 100% load through +50°C, decreasing to 50% at +70°C; the −35 to −25°C portion is specifically marked for 180–264 VAC
Cooling Forced air from built-in DC fans with fan-speed control; keep the indicated airflow path clear
Operating humidity 20–90% RH, non-condensing
Storage −40 to +85°C; 10–95% RH, non-condensing
Temperature coefficient ±0.03%/°C over 0–50°C
Vibration 10–500 Hz, 2 G; 10 minutes per cycle, 60 minutes on each X/Y/Z axis

For operation above 2000 m, the catalog requires an additional ambient-temperature derating of 5°C per 1000 m for this fan-cooled model. This note does not provide a maximum-altitude approval. Use the input and temperature curves together.

Dimensions, Mounting and Connections

Enclosure dimensions 295 × 127 × 41 mm (L × W × H); 1U profile; case 952D
Drawing tolerance ±0.5 mm unless otherwise indicated
Mounting screws M4; hole group 1 maximum penetration 6 mm, group 2 maximum 4 mm; recommended torque 7–10 kgf·cm
