Use the complete connection diagrams and terminal markings. The single-phase alternative is explicitly permitted, but characteristics can differ from the three-phase specification, including greater ripple/noise; consult MEAN WELL for application issues. Do not apply the 340 to 530 VAC line-to-line range to an individual L-N branch.
Protection and DIP-Switch Modes
| Overload threshold |
100% to 112% of rated output power. Short-circuit and fan-failure protection/alarm are also listed. |
| DIP 1 OFF: continuous current mode |
Continuous constant-current operation under overload is specified only while output voltage is greater than 50% of rated output voltage. |
| DIP 1 ON: delayed shutdown |
Overload or short circuit causes shutdown after 5 seconds of constant-current operation; re-power to recover. |
| Over-voltage protection |
60 to 67.2 V; output shuts down, re-power to recover. |
| Over-temperature protection |
Output shuts down and automatically recovers after temperature decreases. |
| DIP 2: current selection |
OFF selects the default overload/current value; ON enables external constant-current-level programming. |
| DIP 3: voltage selection |
OFF selects built-in potentiometer adjustment; ON enables external output-voltage programming. |
The mechanical assignment illustration shows all three DIP positions OFF. Use each function diagram and the actual switch markings to select the required mode. Do not extend continuous constant-current operation below the stated 50%-voltage condition.
Voltage and Current Programming
| PV wiring / allowed range |
With DIP 3 ON, apply external DC voltage between PV+ and PV- on CN313 or CN314: pin 6 PV+, pin 4 PV-. Output can be programmed from 20% to 120% of nominal voltage. |
| PV graph anchors |
1 V external corresponds to 20% output, 5 V to 100%, and 6 V to 120%. The diagram labels the relationship Non-Linear; use the plotted range rather than extrapolating beyond it. |
| PC wiring / allowed range |
With DIP 2 ON, apply external DC voltage between PC+ and PC- on CN313 or CN314: pin 9 PC+, pin 7 PC-. Constant-current level can be programmed from 20% to 100% of rated current. |
| PC graph anchors |
1 V external corresponds to 20% current and 5 V to 100%. The diagram is labeled Non-Linear; do not infer operation outside the stated range. |
| Light-load voltage adjustment caution |
Trimming PV from a high to a lower setting at light/no load can trigger floating over-voltage protection. The manufacturer suggests turning the supply OFF, setting PV to its lowest level, then adjusting output to the desired value. |
The programming diagrams retain the factory +S-to-+V and -S-to--V links. Follow the remote-sense instructions if using remote sensing. Programming ranges do not authorize exceeding this model's rated power or applicable thermal limits.
Remote Sense, Remote Control and Auxiliary Power
| Remote-sense wiring |
CN313/CN314 pin 3 +S to load positive and pin 5 -S to load negative; twist the sense pair. Maximum load-cable voltage-drop compensation is 0.3 V. |
| Local-sense factory links |
When remote sense is unused, +S must connect to +V and -S to -V to avoid noise/interference. These links are stated as factory default. |
| Remote ON/OFF wiring |
Connect CN313/CN314 pin 8 RC- to CN315 pin 3 GND-AUX. A switch between pin 10 RC+ and CN315 pin 1 12V-AUX gives ON when shorted, OFF when open. |
| 12 V auxiliary output |
CN315 pin 1, referenced to pin 3 GND-AUX: 11.4 to 12.6 V, maximum 0.1 A. It is not controlled by remote ON/OFF; the specification restricts this auxiliary to remote ON/OFF control. |
| Signal grounds / load terminals |
GND-AUX is isolated from main +V/-V. CN315 pin 5 +V(signal) and pin 7 -V(signal) are for local sense only and must not be directly connected as load power terminals. |
CN313 and CN314 Control Pins
| Pins 1 / 2 |
1: CS-; 2: CS+, current-sharing signals. Join corresponding CS pins when paralleling units. |
| Pins 3 / 5 |
3: +S; 5: -S, remote sensing. |
| Pins 4 / 6 |
4: PV-; 6: PV+, voltage programming. |
| Pins 7 / 9 |
7: PC-; 9: PC+, current programming. |
| Pins 8 / 10 |
8: RC-; 10: RC+, remote ON/OFF. |
| Connector / mating housing |
CN313 and CN314: HRS DF11-10DP-2DS / HRS DF11-10DS, or equivalents; the two connectors are internally connected. |
The drawing shows even pins 10 to 2 on one row and odd pins 9 to 1 on the other. Follow the actual connector orientation, not a mirrored cable view.
CN315 Auxiliary and Alarm Pins
| Auxiliary / local-sense pins |
1: 12V-AUX; 3: GND-AUX; 5: +V(signal); 7: -V(signal). |
| DC-OK open collector |
Pin 4 DC-OK2 with pin 2 DC-OK2-GND: LOW when the power supply turns ON. |
| AC-fail open collector |
Pin 8 AC-FAIL2 with pin 6 AC-FAIL2-GND: LOW when input voltage is too low. |
| Temperature / fan open collectors |
Pin 9 OTP2 with pin 11 OTP2-GND: LOW on over-temperature protection. Pin 10 FAN-FAIL2 with pin 12 FAN-FAIL2-GND: LOW on internal fan failure. |
| DC-OK relay |
Pin 14 DC-OK1 with pin 16 DC-OK1-GND: normally open, closes when the supply turns ON. |
| AC-fail relay |
Pin 19 AC-FAIL1 with pin 17 AC-FAIL1-GND: normally open, closes when input voltage is too low. |
| Temperature / fan relays |
Pin 13 OTP1 with pin 15 OTP1-GND: normally open, closes on over-temperature protection. Pin 20 FAN-FAIL1 with pin 18 FAN-FAIL1-GND: normally open, closes on internal fan failure. |
| Connector / mating housing |
CN315: HRS DF11-20DP-2DS / HRS DF11-20DS, or equivalents. |
Each of the four signals offers relay-contact and open-collector outputs. Relay contacts are rated at maximum 30 V / 1 A resistive. Open collectors are isolated from the main output and require an external voltage source: maximum 20 V and 10 mA sink current; the internal 24 V Zener does not raise the permitted external voltage.
The example uses four 10 kΩ pull-up resistors with the 12 V auxiliary and shows the relevant return connections. These are circuit examples, not included accessory quantities. Follow the per-signal states above: DC-OK closes/goes LOW during normal ON operation; the fault signals activate on their respective faults.
Current Sharing and Wiring Limits
| Parallel limit / current equation |
Up to four units. Maximum total current = rated current per unit x number of units x 0.9; this model's rated current is 105 A. |
| Voltage matching / low-load behavior |
Match outputs to less than 0.2 V difference. Below 5% of total rated current, current sharing may not be fully balanced. |
| Signal / sense wiring |
Interconnect corresponding +S/-S, CS+/CS- and RC+/RC- as illustrated. When using remote sense in parallel, connect the load-sensing wires only to the master unit. |
| Sense-wire separation |
Keep remote-sense wiring at least 30 cm from input wiring. Use the complete parallel diagram for master and inter-unit connections. |
The family headline states up to 20000 W (3+1); it does not override the current equation or the individual model's actual wattage and thermal limits. Do not connect every unit's sense pair independently to the load.
Temperature, Environment and Derating
| Operating range / thermal curve |
-30°C to +70°C. Horizontal curve: full load through 50°C, declining to 50% at 70°C. |
| Static input characteristic |
At 60 Hz, the curve shows 100% load across delta 196 to 305 VAC / Y 340 to 530 VAC. Use the documented connection and thermal conditions. |
| Cooling / indicators |
Built-in DC fans with fan-speed control. Green LED1: output voltage OK. Red LED2: protection has occurred. |
| Working / storage humidity |
Working 20% to 90% RH non-condensing. Storage -40°C to +85°C, 10% to 95% RH non-condensing. |
| Temperature coefficient / vibration |
±0.03%/°C over 0°C to 50°C. 10 to 500 Hz, 2 G, 10 minutes/cycle, 60 minutes each along X, Y and Z. |
| Altitude derating |
For this fan-cooled model, reduce allowable ambient temperature by 5°C per 1000 m above 2000 m. |
The 48 V efficiency graph compares delta 230 VAC and Y 400 VAC and prints 90.59% and 90.76% respectively; these curve annotations are distinct from the 91.5% typical specification-table value. Do not transfer that curve to the 24 V or 36 V model. The pages do not specify a maximum operating altitude or a precise fan-speed/temperature law.
