Model and Output

Complete model SDR-240-48; SDR-240 catalogue revision 2025-02-17. The final number identifies the nominal 48 V output.
Rated DC output 48 V / 5 A / 240 W; current range 0–5 A.
Peak output 7.5 A / 360 W (150% of rated power), for a maximum of 3 seconds and subject to the peak-loading and derating conditions below.
Voltage adjustment 48–55 V using +V ADJ. Observe the rated current and power limits when adjusting voltage.
Ripple and noise 50 mVp-p maximum, measured at 20 MHz bandwidth with a 12-inch twisted pair terminated by parallel 0.1 µF and 47 µF capacitors.
Voltage tolerance ±1%, including setup tolerance, line regulation and load regulation.
Line / load regulation ±0.5% / ±1.0%, respectively.
Typical efficiency 94% typical at 230 VAC, rated load and 25°C ambient; measured after 30 minutes of burn-in.

Input and Timing

AC / DC input 88–264 VAC or 124–370 VDC; AC frequency 47–63 Hz.
Active PFC / typical power factor Built-in active power-factor correction; typical PF 0.94 at 230 VAC and 0.99 at 115 VAC, at full load.
Typical AC input current 2.6 A at 115 VAC; 1.3 A at 230 VAC.
Typical inrush current 33 A at 115 VAC; 55 A at 230 VAC.
Leakage current Less than 1 mA at 240 VAC.
Setup / rise time 650 / 60 ms at 230 VAC; 1300 / 60 ms at 115 VAC, at full load.
Typical hold-up time 20 ms at both 230 VAC and 115 VAC, at full load.

Unless otherwise stated, specifications are measured at 230 VAC input, rated load and 25°C ambient.

Peak Loading and Derating

Peak-duration limit Up to 360 W for no more than 3 seconds, within the permitted input and temperature conditions. Peak capability is not a continuous power rating.
Temperature curves For vertical mounting, continuous load is 100% from −25 to +60°C, decreasing to 75% at +70°C. The three-second peak curve is 150% through +60°C, decreasing to 112.5% at +70°C.
Input-voltage curve At 60 Hz AC, the graph shows 90% load at 88 VAC, increasing to 100% at 100 VAC and remaining at 100% through 264 VAC.
Cooling / orientation Free-air convection; use vertical mounting for the published temperature-derating curves. Keep the ventilation path unobstructed.

The page 9 peak-loading diagrams show two examples: 240 W for 100 seconds followed by 360 W for 3 seconds, or 120 W for 10 seconds followed by 360 W for 3 seconds. The marked 100-second and 10-second durations are the lower-load intervals, not the complete cycle periods. These examples do not establish an unrestricted duty cycle for other load patterns.

Apply the input and temperature restrictions together; use the more restrictive allowable load. See PDF page 9 for the full curves.

Protection and DC OK Monitoring

Short circuit / overload The catalogue lists short-circuit protection. At 110–150% of rated output power, overload operation lasting more than 3 seconds is followed by output shutdown with automatic recovery.
Above 150% rated power Constant-current limiting with automatic recovery within 2 seconds; operation beyond 2 seconds may cause output shutdown.
Overvoltage 56–65 V; output shutdown, with automatic recovery.
Overtemperature 95±5°C at TSW on the heatsink of the power switch; output shuts down and recovers automatically after cooling. This is an internal sensing temperature, not an ambient operating limit.
DC OK relay states Contact closed: PSU turns on / DC OK. Contact open: PSU turns off / DC Fail.
DC OK contact ratings Maximum resistive-load ratings: 60 VDC / 0.3 A, 30 VDC / 1 A, or 30 VAC / 0.5 A.
Front indication / adjustment DC OK LED and +V ADJ output adjustment are shown on the mechanical drawing.

Protection thresholds describe fault response; they do not extend the permitted three-second peak duration. The DC OK relay is a monitoring contact, not an auxiliary power output.

Environment and Reliability

Working temperature / humidity −25 to +70°C subject to the stated derating; 20–95% RH, non-condensing.
Storage temperature / humidity −40 to +85°C; 10–95% RH.
Temperature coefficient ±0.03%/°C over 0–50°C.
Vibration Component: 10–500 Hz, 2G, 10 min/cycle, 60 min along each X, Y and Z axis. Mounting: compliance with IEC60068-2-6.
MTBF reference 1160.3 K hours minimum, Telcordia SR-332 (Bellcore); 169.3 K hours minimum, MIL-HDBK-217F at 25°C. These are reliability calculations, not a guaranteed service life.

For this fanless model, apply an additional ambient-temperature derating of 3.5°C per 1000 m above 2000 m. This footnote does not specify a maximum approved installation altitude.
