The MEAN WELL HRP-N3 and HRPG-N3 series are ultra-high peak power enclosed switching power supplies.
Robust & Reliable
- All models feature a built-in active Power Factor Correction (PFC) function.
- They are engineered to operate reliably in an extremely wide working temperature range of -40 ~ +70°C.
- All units withstand a 10 ~ 500Hz, 5G vibration test along the X, Y, and Z axes.
Input Flexibility & Safety
- The AC input range is 85~264VAC (or 120~370VDC) for the HRP-150N3, HRP-300N3, and HRP-600N3.
- The HRPG-1000N3 accepts an AC input range of 90~264VAC, can withstand a 300VAC surge for 5 seconds, and also supports 127~370VDC.
- Comprehensive safety protections include over voltage and over temperature safeguards.
Understanding the "N3" Ultra-High Peak Power Advantage
The "N3" series is specifically designed for applications requiring massive transient power bursts. Instead of immediately shutting down or hiccuping upon overload, these units provide extended constant current limiting for demanding loads.
- HRP-150N3: Provides constant current limiting where the output power exceeds 330% of the rated value for more than 5 seconds before shutting down output voltage.
- HRP-300N3: Provides constant current limiting where the output power exceeds 380% (1140W) of the rated value for more than 5 seconds before shutting down output voltage.
- HRP-600N3: Provides constant current limiting where the output power exceeds 380% of the rated value for more than 5 seconds before shutting down output voltage.
- HRPG-1000N3: Provides constant current limiting where the output power exceeds 350% of the rated value for more than 5 seconds before shutting down output voltage.
- Recovery: Across all models, if the output exceeds 105% of the rated value for more than 5 seconds, the output voltage shuts down, and the power must be restarted to recover.

Advanced Control & Signaling Functions
Cooling & Fan Control
The HRP-300N3, HRP-600N3, and HRPG-1000N3 models feature a built-in fan control system. The fan turns on based on load percentage or internal temperature (e.g., Load ≥ 35±15% or RTH2 ≥ 50°C for the 300N3 and 600N3).
Status Monitoring
A DC OK signal is provided on the HRP-300N3, HRP-600N3, and HRPG-1000N3 models to indicate the operational status of the power supply. For example, the HRP-300N3 outputs a PSU on signal of 3.3 ~ 5.6V, and a PSU off signal of 0 ~ 1V.
HRPG-1000N3 Exclusive Features
- Current Sharing: The HRPG-1000N3 supports a parallel function, allowing current sharing up to 4000W (3+1 units).
- Remote Control & Sense: The HRPG-1000N3 features remote ON/OFF control and remote sense capabilities.
- Standby Output: The HRPG-1000N3 includes a 5V@0.3A auxiliary standby output.
