Series Overview

The PLD and PCD series are compact, indoor Constant Current (CC) LED drivers featuring built-in Active Power Factor Correction (PFC). They are designed for direct integration into commercial and residential LED lighting fixtures.

  • PLD Series (Standard): Provides a stable, non-dimmable constant current output. It is highly cost-effective and ideal for standard indoor lighting applications.
  • PCD Series (Dimmable): Features built-in AC Phase-cut (TRIAC) dimming. It works seamlessly with traditional leading-edge and trailing-edge wall dimmers, making it perfect for retrofitting existing lighting circuits.
  • Class II Design: Fully isolated plastic housing with no earth ground pin required, simplifying installation.
  • Active PFC: Ensures high efficiency and minimizes harmonic distortion, complying with global lighting energy standards.

Dimming & Application Guide

Choosing between the PLD and PCD series depends entirely on your project's dimming requirements.

Series Type Feature Best Usage Scenario
PLD Series Non-dimmable Standard ON/OFF LED downlights, track lights, and indoor LED panels where dimming control is not needed.
PCD Series AC Phase-cut Dimming Residential and commercial spaces where traditional AC wall dimmers (TRIAC) are already installed. No extra control wiring (like 0-10V or DALI) is required.
Application Tip: The PCD series is highly recommended for retrofitting older incandescent or halogen lighting setups to LED. Because it works with standard leading-edge and trailing-edge dimmers, you can simply swap out the light fixture and driver while keeping the existing wall switch.

Typical AC input current 0.2 A at 230 VAC; 0.15 A at 277 VAC Setup time 500 ms at 230 VAC at full load. Inrush current Cold start: 10 A maximum at 230 VAC; 90 μs width at 50% peak. Circuit-breaker reference 128 / 128 units on type B / type C 16 A breakers at 230 VAC, respectively. These are breaker types, not product suffixes; verify the actual breaker and installation. Leakage current <0.5 mA at 240 VAC AC phase-cut dimming Use a compatible leading-edge or trailing-edge AC phase-cut dimmer on the mains input before the driver. The catalog specifies a conduction-angle range of 30° minimum to 180° maximum; these angles are not a guaranteed output-current or brightness percentage. The drawing provides AC/L and AC/N input leads and V+/V− LED output leads, with no separate dimming-control wires. The following third-party dimmers are catalog compatibility examples at the stated supply voltage and frequency. Confirm the actual dimmer revision, load limits and permitted driver count with the dimmer manufacturer; listing does not mean the dimmer is supplied with this driver. Dimensions, wiring and installation Parameter Specification Body dimensions 84 × 57 × 29.5 mm (L × W × H) Mounting Two Ø3.6 mm mounting holes; follow case PCD16A drawing. Drawing tolerance ±1 mm. Recommended assembly/mounting-screw torque: 3.2–4.8 kgf·cm per the LED installation manual; this is not a wire-terminal torque. AC input leads NISPT-1 18 AWG; brown AC/L and blue AC/N. Lead length 75 ±5 mm. LED output leads UL1430 18 AWG; red V+ and black V−. Lead length 150 ±10 mm. Check polarity before connection. Installation Disconnect the supply before installation or maintenance and prevent accidental reconnection. Keep ventilation clear and do not stack objects on the driver. Leave 10–15 cm clearance when an adjacent device is a heat source. Insulate all system interconnections and cover single-insulated wiring with the system enclosure. Use suitable cable current ratings; route and secure the leads without strain. Do not immerse the unit or expose it to excessive heat or fire. Do not open the case; damaged external wiring must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or an equally qualified person. LED connection and mains switching Connect LEDs directly to the output; this driver is not suitable for use with additional drivers. The LED string’s total forward voltage determines the operating output voltage within the specified constant-current range. Keep current and power within the rating. For the stated ErP application, install the driver behind a switch rather than permanently connected to the mains. Catalog mass 190 g per unit, from PACKING 0.19 kg. Catalog packing reference, not a measured net or shipping weight.
