  • Premium Reliability: Built with the highest-grade components, the HLG series boasts an exceptionally long lifespan and is backed by an industry-leading 7-year manufacturer warranty.
  • Dual-Mode Output: Flexibly operates in Constant Voltage mode for powering LED strips and signage, or Constant Current mode for directly driving high-power LED arrays.
  • Rugged Aluminum Housing: Features a robust Class I metal enclosure with a functional ground, completely potted with heat-conducting silicone for superior thermal management and IP65/IP67 environmental protection.
  • Extreme Temperature Tolerance: Capable of operating flawlessly in harsh environments ranging from extreme cold to high-heat industrial ceilings (typically -40°C to +90°C case temperature).

Technical Highlights

  • Wide Input Range: Supports a universal AC input from 90~305VAC, ideal for unstable commercial grids and industrial 277VAC systems.
  • Ultra-High Efficiency: State-of-the-art circuit design delivers industry-leading energy efficiency up to 96%, drastically reducing heat generation and operating costs.
  • Active PFC: Built-in Active Power Factor Correction ensures high PF (>0.95) and complies with stringent EN61000-3-2 harmonic current limits.
  • Industrial-Grade Protections: Features heavy-duty internal surge immunity (typically 4KV/6KV), alongside robust auto-recovery protections against short circuit, over-current, over-voltage, and over-temperature.

Power Range & Output Variants

The HLG series offers one of the most extensive wattage coverages in the industry, catering to everything from robust architectural accents to massive stadium lighting setups.

Available Wattages Standard Output Voltages Ideal Applications
40W, 60W, 80W, 100W, 120W, 150W, 185W, 240W, 320W, 480W, 600W 12V, 15V, 20V, 24V, 30V, 36V, 42V, 48V, 54V Stadium lighting, greenhouse and horticulture lighting, street lighting, high-bay factory lights, fishing lamps, and heavy-duty architectural illumination.
Design Note: Unlike Constant Power (CP) drivers, the HLG series provides a fixed maximum voltage and current. When designing a system for direct-drive luminaires, ensure your total LED string voltage closely matches the driver's rated voltage to operate optimally in the Constant Current (CC) region.

Dimming & Control Suffixes

The HLG series utilizes a precise suffix naming convention to indicate its physical tuning and dimming capabilities. Select the suffix that best matches your integration needs:

Suffix Code IP Rating Feature Description
Blank IP67 Standard fixed output version. Cables are provided for I/O connection. No manual adjustment or dimming. Ideal for harsh, wet locations requiring basic ON/OFF power.
A-Type IP65 Features internal potentiometers accessed via waterproof rubber plugs. Allows precise manual tuning of the Output Voltage (Vo) and Output Current (Io).
B-Type IP67 Built-in 3-in-1 Dimming function (1~10VDC, 10V PWM signal, or resistance). Controlled via an external dimming cable.
AB-Type IP65 The ultimate flexible option. Combines the manual Vo/Io tuning of the A-Type with the 3-in-1 remote dimming capabilities of the B-Type.
C-Type IP20 Terminal block type (available on select wattages) for indoor applications requiring hardwired screw terminal connections instead of pre-attached cables.

System wiring and protection Use approved primary and secondary wiring rated for at least the applicable unit current. Provide suitable system-level insulation and an enclosure around single-insulated wiring; verify EMC again in the completed system. Environmental and load limits Do not immerse the unit or install it near fire or above its specified ambient limit. Keep output current and power within the model’s rated operating envelope. If a fitted external flexible cable is damaged, replacement is limited to the manufacturer, its service agent or a similarly qualified person. Protective-earth installation Connect the fitted FG/PE conductor to PE according to this Class I model’s wiring diagram. Weather protection This IP65 model must be installed indoors or in a location sheltered from rain outdoors, as required by the installation manual. The IP rating does not permit immersion. Controller installation Verify the compatibility and capacity of the controller for this exact interface. For standalone use with dimming conductors smaller than 18 AWG (0.75 mm²), use SELV controllers/networks; contact MEAN WELL for guidance before using FELV control. Follow this model’s control wiring. Dimming isolation The installation manual lists this HLG-60H–320H-C family’s analog dimming circuit as not isolated from the secondary circuit. Follow the specified DIM wiring and controller requirements. Confirm the exact LED load, operating temperature, control interface and installation requirements against the linked datasheet and manual before commissioning.

Its IP65 design supports suitable indoor or outdoor lighting installations subject to the installation requirements. Output current adjustable through the built-in potentiometer, plus 3-in-1 dimming using 1–10 VDC, 10 V PWM or resistance. Download MEAN WELL HLG-80H-C Datasheet (PDF)Download MEAN WELL LED Installation Manual HLG-C catalog, PDF pages 11–20. Use the exact output and function suffix when selecting the driver. Output and function Rated output 350 mA constant current; 89.95 W rated power. Constant current region Not separately specified for AB in the datasheet. For reference only, the 350 mA A type lists 128–257 V and the B type lists 167–257 V. Obtain MEAN WELL confirmation for this exact suffix; neither range is assigned to this model. Current accuracy Current ripple: 8% maximum at rated current. Current tolerance: ±5%. Function and ingress rating AB type; IP65.
